Angus House - TAKASHIMAYA

After Cedele, we went to Angus house for dinner. I always love the place. Nice atmosphere and food. Ordered the dinner set which comes with appetizer, salads, soup, complimentary bread, main dish, dessert and tea or coffee. I did not take the picture for my salad coz my mother ate them and the dessert, well I ate it before I remembered to take. haha fail. But the dessert is tiramisu anyway. Angus House has always been the place for my most favorite tiramisu cake The taste is not too heavy and does not have a strong taste of the coffee. I like it a lot.

My dad love the complimentary bread a lot! He said that the bread is crispy and warm. Fresh from the oven. Eat it with butter, a journey to heaven

The appetizer is pan-fried cod fish on a bed of mash potato with avocado puree. It is light and refreshing, good for appetizer. The cod fish is pan-fried nicely with the outside crispy and the inside moist and soft. No fishy smell at all. The avocado puree is nice and light. Mash potato is also very natural with no addition of
butter.

The soup is very creamy and heavy with a very strong taste of milk. I do not like milk so I gave this to my dad who likes it a lot. And dipping the bread into the soup, is another 'wow' experience according to him.

My main, I chose mixed seafood grill. I like it! The king prawn is nicely grilled, succulent But, a pity that it is too thin. However, I like the fact that the meat is easily de-shelled. the scallop is nicely seared, well at least one of them. The second one, I think it is a bit raw, is not cooked enough yet. Cooking a scallop perfectly is hard I know, so, I do not really mind. The grilled squid is the best in my opinion. It is sliced easily and not too springy. I like it!

Angus House will always been one my favorite restaurant to eat with y family members. Not only because of the food but also the overall atmosphere. Relaxing and calming. Good for chi-chatting and spending some time together.

Cedele - TAKASHIMAYA

Went to Cedele for a high tea. I have always wanted to try the desserts when I bought my sandwich there everytime and today, I finally have it! I tried 3 desserts. The apple crumble flan, chocolate eclair and the strawberry tart. I did not try the carrot cake though, because the slice is so big!

Did not try the chocolate eclair (middle) coz it is gone before I tried it. My mother says it is very nice. And this comes from a person who have tried chocolate eclair from different cafes and bakeries. So, this chocolate eclair will sure to be good.

I love the apple crumble flan. There is slices of caramelized apple in it and the crumble is sweet but not too overly sweet. I love it!

The strawberry tart (middle) is the most anticipated one for me, but sadly, it is the most disappointed one too. The first taste is alright. But, the second bite, the tart is too thick and the chocolate custard is too bitter. Not suitable with the strawberry. Quite disappointed with it.

However, I still think Cedele is one of my favorite place to get my sandwich. Their food are wholesome and healthy and of course delicious. Just don't get their tarts next time.

Pasta De Waraku - NOVENA SQUARE 2

I know what you were gonna say. How am I supposed to lose weight if I continue to eat like this. Well, I have no idea but somehow?? haha. So, went to Pasta De Waraku for dinner but I was not really hungry so I ordered a green tea parfait. I was trying to decide between the parfait or the hanito dessert. But, I chose the parfait instead because I was trying to cut down on carbohydrates. HAHA! But, I do realize that both are equally sinful though...

I almost give up waiting for the parfait since the staff did not send me my parfait after 20 minutes of waiting and the choco-banana parfait of the guest after me has come out so I though mine was forgotten. I was so impatient that I told her I did not want it anymore. However, I guess she was just part-timer and was quite shocked, so she apologized to me like repetitively and brought out my parfait.

It was bigger than I thought it will be. I changed the cream into vanilla ice-cream since I don't like cream. The parfait consist of vanilla ice-cream, green-tea ice-cream, mochi ball, red bean and some cereal crunch. It is nice, I like it. Well, I do love desserts right?? haha! I was glad that I changed the cream to ice-cream.

Waraku is a nice place to dine in, just need to improve the service more. My drink was not served until 20 minutes later and my brother's food was not served until 40 minutes later and my parfait was not served for another 10 more minutes....

Canele Patiesser - PARAGON

First day of trying to stay away from buffet and I succeeded! I went to Canele for lunch and just to stay there and study. LOL yea, I know weird right? But I went there to study for my Korean test in the evening and to wait for my brother to come and shop with me. I was seated at a nice place and the sofa, was oh-so-nice even though it is a bit too short.

I ordered a savory pancake of mushroom seared with whine wine and topped with rocket salad. Even though in the menu it only said mushroom, when I cut open the pancake, I saw ham.... hmmm.... I wonder why. But, I love this dish! I lie that the pancake is soft and fluffy but not too thick and soggy. The side is crispy and thin just the way I like it. The mushroom is seared nicely and I love the hint taste of the white wine. Overall, a nice dish

I have a craving for sweet chocolate-y dish, a drawback from all the buffets you see... So, I ordered a slice of flour-less chocolate cake. Oh, it was so good. It is so rich in chocolate and I love it, as a chocolate lover.

I would love to come and dine in here again. But next time, I will order an additional of macaroons. Believe it or not, but I have not tried macaroon before. yeap, shock shock. Anyway, I was glad that the staffs did not chase me out after eating to study even though the place start to get crowded. :D:D

Asian Straits Market - Swissotel

I admit I am a buffet fanatic. I love buffets because I have a lot of varieties I can choose and taste. And I especially love it when I can choose and taste many kinds of desserts. However, this will be my last post for buffets because I must stop eating this! This way of dining has burnt my pocket and also affected my weight. I shall stop eating so much. HAHA! At least I will try not to eat buffets for a while.

Have been wanting to try Asian Straits Market for a while, but always failed because it is always fully reserved. But I got to try it at last just recently. I just have to say, the food is great and the service is really GOOD! I was first introduced to all the dishes by one of the waiters, brought to the table and was quickly served with drinks and was greeted with a smile. So hard to find such an impeccable service nowadays. They also cleared our plates almost instantly. Nice one.

So here are the dishes, not all was taken since I was busy eating. haha. I love their desserts especially. Even though it has only a few variety, the desserts were all up-to-standard, I love the portuegese tart and fruit tart especially. I also like their scallop and the salads and also the cereal prawn. I was so happy that they helped us de-shelled the prawn. I was too lazy to de-shelled it usually. The not-so-good one is the yu sheng and soba noodle sadly.

This, will be my last buffet post for the time-being. Perseverance!!

Yoguru - GREAT WORLD CITY

After Ichiban Boshi, I was still craving for something sweet. So, I head to Yoguru for my usual yogurt dine in. LOL. Yoguru was once my favorite Singapore's yogurt outlet before Sour Sally came into Singapore's business and knowing about Swirl Art and Yigloo. However, I still like Yoguru though. The frozen yogurt here is more tart and does not melt easily. Love it.

So, I had the natural flavor with 1 topping of honey coated nuts. I like it! But, for the granola, I do prefer those in Sogurt or Sour Sally. But the yogurt beats Sogurt anytime:D Yoguru is still one of my favorite Yogurt outlet though:D However, in Yoguru, never try the flavored frozen yogurt as it lacks the punch and flavor.

Ichiban Boshi - GREAT WORLD CITY

Went to Ichiban boshi at great world city for dinner. I was not really into eating sumptuous food so, went there just to fill myself up and relax. I was craving for rolls anyway, since the time I went to Hachi Hachi and Kiyadon in Indonesia. I was hoping to find the same excitement I had in Ichiban, but sadly, it failed to meet my expectation.

First, I had the sushi roll fried in tempura batter and topped with lobster (mocked one I think) mayo. I like it that it is somewhat crispy. But, it is just plain normal, nothing extraordinary about it.

I ordered the deep fried salmon skin, thinking that it will be light and crunchy dish. However, the taste is a bit bitter and not enough crunch. I think it is too thick sadly. The little mayo that was put on top does not even help to cover up the bitterness.

I also ordered the salmon carpaccio. The sashimi was fresh, but the teriyaki sauce is so mild that the dish is tasteless.

The last one is the deep fried ebi tempura roll topped with sakura ebi. It is nice and light. This is the better dish out of all. I like the ebi tempura as you can taste that it is nicely battered and fried and the rice is nicely rolled too. The sakura ebi also make the roll to have an interesting and unique taste of it.

Overall, Ichiban sushi is a good place to dine if you just want to fill yourself and avoid any frills. However, if you expect any spectacular food, this is not the place to be at. However, I do have to admit that it is much better than Sakae sushi and Sakura though... no offense.
